Dr Solomon routinely assesses a range of psychological and psychiatric problems, including:
- Depressive disorders;
- Trauma and stressor-related disorders (PTSD, acute stress disorder, adjustment disorders);
- Anxiety disorders (panic, specific phobia, social phobia, generalised anxiety disorder, health anxiety);
- Obsessive compulsive disorders (body dysmorphic, hoarding, hair pulling, skin picking, OCD);
- Addiction & substance misuse disorders;
- Bereavement & adjustment to loss;
- Chronic pain;
- Somatic symptom disorders;
- Occupational stress;
- Personality disorders; and
- Self-esteem problems.
Emma also has a special interest in adjustment to disfigurement and with appearance-related distress, which can result from injury, surgery or from a medical condition and its treatment.
As part of her NHS role Dr Solomon leads a psychology service providing expert psychological assessment and intervention to support the medical teams in the below areas: oncology, dermatology, surgery, rheumatology, critical care, diabetes, respiratory medicine, immunology,
gynaecology and maternity, cardiology, haematology, endocrinology, urology, ENT, anaesthetics, and gastroenterology.
