Professor Vijay Sangar

Professor Sangar has clinical interests in urological oncology, including of the penis, bladder, prostate, and testis as well as andrology, including erectile dysfunction, peyronies, trauma, and testis problems. He also examines rare disease, such as sarcoma of the abdomen and pelvis. Professor Sangar has a specialist interest in penile surgery, which includes reconstruction and sexual dysfunction. This has further led to an interest in male factor infertility, including ‘loupes assisted’ vasectomy reversal.

Professor Sangar's research interests include penile cancer including management, predictors, treatments and outcomes, and bladder cancer including organ sparing technology and treatments.

Professor Sangar is a Professor of Urology in the faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health at the University of Manchester and has been since 2018. He trains medical students and postgraduate fellows/trainees in Urology. He also supervises MD and PhD students.

Professor Sangar has 90 publications (papers, reviews, abstracts) in peer reviewed journals, as well as 20 additional articles in non-peer reviewed journals. His Google Scholar Index is 28, in-keeping with international level expertise.
