Mr Alun Wall

Mr Alun Wall has been a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon and the Clinical Lead for Hip Surgery at the Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 2014. He has extensive experience in general orthopaedic and trauma surgery, with a specialist interest in hip surgery. Since taking over as Clinical Lead for Hip Surgery, Mr Wall has improved Bolton’s performance significantly; it is now one of the best performing hospitals in the country for hip fracture care.

Mr Wall has a special interest in hip fractures, hip replacement and hip arthroscopy. He also has a special interest in soft tissue reconstruction of the hip, robotically assisted hip surgery, general orthopaedic & trauma surgery, musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries including whiplash type injuries, lower limb surgery, young adult hip and knee conditions and sports injuries of the hip and knee.

Mr Wall is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Salford, which includes extensive teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students. He regularly teaches on hip replacement and trauma surgery courses, as well as a course for the orthopaedic fellowship exams. In addition, he is actively involved in the training of junior surgeons within the NHS. Mr Wall is frequently invited to lecture nationally and internationally.

Mr Wall has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, covering aspects of hip surgery, hip fracture and hip arthroscopy.
