Mr Haroon Majeed

Mr Haroon Majeed is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon practising within the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). He first qualified in 2000 at the King Edward Medical College, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He later moved to the UK and gained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) in 2007 at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Mr Majeed went on to specialise in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2016.

Mr Majeed has a specialist interest in foot and ankle orthopaedic and trauma surgery.

Mr Majeed has been the Principle Investigator in numerous randomised controlled trials (RCTs) on subjects including: total ankle replacement versus arthrodesis; acute femoral fracture fixation; wound healing in surgical trauma; and the use of Bimigrumab in patients with neck of femur fracture. He is also on the reviewer’s panel of various peer-reviewed journals relating to trauma and orthopaedics including Bone and Joint Journal, BioMed Central Journals, Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Trauma Cases and Reviews, and Clinical Medical Case Reviews and Case Reports.

Mr Majeed is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester. He has delivered several lectures in various forums. Mr Majeed enjoys his role as Foot and Ankle Module Lead for postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and is a Faculty Member for FRCS courses. Previously, Mr Majeed was an undergraduate examiner at the Keele University.

Mr Majeed has widely published research work in peer-reviewed journals including meta-analysis, systematic reviews, prospective analyses, case series reviews, case reports, and book chapters. He has also presented his research work on various national and international forums including as an invited speaker.

Mr Majeed has been the Lead of Clinical Governance, Research Development, Clinical Audit and Infection Prevention and Control. He has a Level 7/master’s degree in strategic health management and is a specialist advisor to the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
