Mr Sandeep Bahia

Mr Bahia is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust where he provides an emergency and elective vascular surgery service.  He is the Aortic Lead and Vascular Research Lead, as well as KSS CRN Vascular Research Lead.

He has a special interest in aortic aneurysm, lower limb arterial & venous disease and carotid artery disease. He leads on the Complex Aortic Programme in Kent and, is Clinical Director for the Kent and Medway Aortic Screening Service.

Mr Bahia has a particular interest in aortic aneurysms. His PhD was on the shortfall in survival of patients after abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. His current research interests are focused on cardiovascular risk in patients with arterial disease.

Mr Bahia has presented at a number of national and international conferences.

Mr Bahia has published extensively and consistently; he has over 25 peer-reviewed publications. He was also a contributor to the Oxford Textbook of Vascular Surgery (2016) and reviews for multiple publications including the British Journal of Surgery (BJS),Circulation, BMJ, Plos One and European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He also delivers peer reviews for potential NIHR Funded research proposals.
