Mr Vikas Malik

Mr Malik has more than 7 years of experience as an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Consultant. Currently, he is an ENT Consultant as well as Departmental Lead for both Clinical Governance and Audits & Research at the Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He has been Honorary Associate Editor of BMC ENT Disorders.

Mr Malik has a special interest in managing ear conditions including ear discharge, cholesteatoma, ear drum perforation, Meniere's disease, eustachian tube dysfunction and nose problems including sinusitis, blocked nose and snoring.

Mr Malik has numerous publications in peer-reviewed publications and has presented in several national and international conferences. More recently, Mr Malik has been involved in several UK multicentre and international trials including trials for interventional treatment for tinnitus, glue ear and hearing loss. He has special research interests in ear problems, hearing loss, facial weakness, endoscopic sinus surgery and paediatric ENT issues.

Mr Malik has a particular interest in medical education and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University. He is a Clinical Supervisor for ENT Registrars at the Royal Bolton Hospital and he has been recognised by the GMC as a trainer and supervisor. He was the departmental lead for medical education at the Blackpool Victoria Hospital and a member of Surgical Training Committee for ENT Higher Surgical Trainees at Health Education North West England. He teaches and provides training to medical undergraduates as well as postgraduates. Between 2014-2019, Mr Malik worked as Honorary Clinical Lecturer in Liverpool Medical University and as a Liverpool Objective Clinical Assessment System (LOCAS) Lead for the Liverpool Medical University at Blackpool Victoria Hospital during 2017-2018.
