Advanced Directive Expert Witnesses

An advance directive , also known as an advance decision to refuse treatment (ADRT), records a person’s decision to refuse specified medical treatment in the future. It applies when the person lacks capacity to make or communicate that decision. Cases involving advance decisions can raise complex medico-legal questions. These may relate to mental capacity, consent, validity, applicability, clinical decision-making and the interpretation of documented wishes. Our medical expert witnesses can provide independent, evidence-based medico-legal opinions and reports. Experts may review medical records and other relevant documentation.
