Blood Pressure Expert Witnesses
Blood pressure (BP) is the pressure that circulating blood exerts against blood vessel walls; it closely relates to heart rate and the strength of heart contraction, in addition to the arterial wall elasticity and lumen size. Systolic BP indicates the pressure in the arteries during heart contraction; a normal systolic value is 90-120mmHg. Diastolic BP indicates the pressure in the arteries whilst the heart is relaxed; a normal diastolic value is 60-80mmHg. Hypotension is a BP of 90/60mmHg and below. Hypertension is a BP above 140/90mmHg and can be categorised as stage 1, stage 2, or a hypertensive crisis. Contact an expert witness below for a medico-legal report.
