Mr Simon Galloway

Mr Simon Galloway is a highly respected Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon practising at the Wythenshawe Hospital, where he has been a consultant since March 2000. Up until recently, Mr Galloway was also the Clinical Director for Surgery at the Wythenshawe Hospital.

Upper gastro-intestinal disease, gallstones and laparoscopic cholecystectomy, achalasia, cancer of the oesophagus and stomach, reflux disease, heartburn and hiatus hernia treatments, laparoscopic fundoplication, inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, femoral hernia, incisional hernia and recurrent hernias, open and laparoscopic surgery with mesh, endoscopy - gastroscopy sigmoidoscopy.

Mr Galloway is interested in the immunology of oesophago-gastric cancer.

Mr Galloway is an Educational Supervisor to all grades of junior doctors and undergraduates. He is also a Consultant Appraiser.

Mr Galloway has published widely in peer-reviewed journals on all aspects of general and oesophago-gastric surgery.
