Hernias Expert Witnesses

A hernia is when an internal part of the body (often an organ) pushes through a weakness in the surrounding soft tissue and/or muscle. There are many different types of hernia, including: incisional, umbilical, inguinal, parastomal, hiatus, epigastric, spigelian, diaphragmatic, and muscle. Although most hernias can be managed conservatively, some require surgical intervention, particularly if they become strangulated.
