Dr Stephen Butterfield

Dr Butterfield is a Consultant Vascular Interventional Radiologist at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He specialises in vascular diagnostic and interventional radiology of both the arterial and venous systems. Dr Butterfield performs procedures involving all aspects of peripheral vascular intervention, including complex below knee procedures and pedal access. In addition, he performs aortic stent grafting, carotid artery stenting, bronchial artery embolization, mesenteric embolization, arterial thrombolysis, venous interventions for acute central DVT, venous filter insertion and retrieval, venous stenting and embolization. Dr Butterfield also deals with peripheral access techniques including PICC lines, Hickman lines and Portacath insertion.

Dr Butterfield has a special interest in drug eluting angioplasty balloons and stents for peripheral vascular disease.

Dr Butterfield is a named author on over twenty research publications and is a trial participant in National and International scientific papers.

Dr Butterfield has been invited to lecture at national and international meetings on interventional radiological techniques and technologies.
