Cannulation Expert Witnesses

Cannulation is a procedure whereby a small plastic tube is inserted into a peripheral vein, most commonly in the hand or elbow region. Once a cannula is in place it can be used to take blood samples and deliver medications, nutrition, and fluids. Cannula care is of upmost importance as cannula sites can quickly become infected or suffer from extravasation.
